A two year process of research and development into efficient mine site dewatering and highwall pumping operations has resulted in the design and manufacture of the HDS200 dewatering system. The foundations of the HDS200 are based on industry identified needs, requirements and improvements from end users of pumping equipment in the mining industry. From all parts of the globe, including South Africa, Chile and most importantly Australia, the input from the end user has been a key factor in the final design. This broad range of feedback into what is required in a highwall pump has resulted in the development of the most advanced highwall dewatering system available, capable of delivering 200L per second at 100m head. Dowdens Pumping and Water Treatment have purpose engineered a range of underground dewatering tanks with a maximum capacity of 14,000L (with larger capacities available upon request). Portable Fish Tanks are used in underground mines as a part of the water management process. Mine water is collected from around the mine from sumps and wet areas by air operated Wilden pumps and delivered to the Fish Tank, where water level sensors activate the pump and transfer the collected mine water to a main station, dam or directly out of the mine portal. Mine water typically is dirty with coal, rock and dirt; pumps used are a slurry type to handle such product. Fish tanks can be located in hazardous areas and can be fitted with flame proof motors and motor controllers with PLC and SCADA.
The tanks are designed to minimise maintenance. Bottom shape allows a self-cleaning action that dramatically reduces the retention of solids. In addition, the tank is equipped with a flanged sump for periodic cleaning. This is just one of the many dewatering solutions available from Dowdens Pumping and Water Treatment.
Water management is one of the biggest issues in mining; too much, too little or in the wrong place can place unnecessary burden on mine operations. Reservoirs are ever present as a mass storage of water and getting water out and distributed for use is challenging, considering water quality, access, and logistics. Dowdens Pumping and Water Treatment manufactures several options with pontoons being one of the most popular.
Pontoons can be manufactured in various sizes and capacities for the most arduous services from slurry to high discharge pressures. Dowdens Pumping and Water Treatment is about designing and delivering a tailored solution to meet your mine's needs. Contact our industrial sales team today to discuss your specific needs.
Dowdens Pumping and Water Treatment provide customers with purpose built solutions. We can either create trailer pumps or skid mounted pumps, depending on the application (the below information covers both). All feature a single point lift, integral fuel tank with 48hr run time, engine and pump protection, full mine site compliance, with or without electric braking system and can be fitted with a gantry for suction pipe.
Dowdens Pumping and Water Treatment can supply and service a range of bore hole pumps with the capacity to reach depths of 300m and beyond. We can supply complete packages, water level monitoring systems, and motor and pump protection. Dowdens Pumping and Water Treatment can provide bore hole pumps with flows up to 100l/sec on flexible rising mains or full fabricated galvanized columns and discharge heads.
